Anyone knows if it's legal by shop to give only 1y warranty? I wanted to buy Poco few days ago in Electronic4you but I haven't yet because I've asked them why they are giving only 1y warranty and they didn't answer. I guess I will need to buy it like that or buy extended protection :/ I've asked here as well: reddit.com/r/X…ng/
also warranty kann man anscheined für garantie und für gewährleistung verwenden. wie soll man da den unterschied dann erklären? ^^

So you have to differ between "Garantie" and "Gewährleistung". I didn't find an english translation for them, actually both are translated to warranty but they mean a different thing.

So "Gewährleistung" is something by law and it is 2 years for new stuff. In the first six months the seller has to prove that the product was faulty and the time of buying. Afterwards it switches sides. You have to prove that it was faulty since the beginning (which is pretty hard to prove).

And then there is the "Garantie" which is basically the thing you mentioned. It is completely voluntary. So no company needs to do this. For example Apple will give you 1 years as well. So if a Company like Xiaomi or the Seller Electronic4You says they are only providing you 1 year warranty it is perfectly fine.
